Biography

Monroe Owsley was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Owsley began his acting career appearing in various films, such as the Ann Harding comedic adaptation "Holiday" (1930), the drama "Indiscreet" (1931) with Gloria Swanson and "Ten Cents a Dance" (1931). He also appeared in "Call Her Savage" (1932). He kept working in film throughout the thirties, starring in the Carole Lombard dramatic adaptation "Brief Moment" (1933), "Ex-Lady" (1933) and "Little Man, What Now?" (1934). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the comedy "Remember Last Night?" (1935) with Edward Arnold, the comedy "Mr. Cinderella" (1936) with Jack Haley and "Private Number" (1936) with Robert Taylor. Owsley last acted in "Yellowstone" (1936). Owsley passed away in June 1937 at the age of 37.
